On Manono Island off the west coast of Upolu are Samoa's best over-the-water beach fales with private verandah and staircase down to the sea. Your hosts provide excellent fresh food and ample fruits from their large tropical fruit garden. Manono is an idyllic island with 4 villages, no cars and no barking dogs. A coastal track circles the island passing through forest and villages and offers great views of the coastline. An excellent choice to meet the locals and learn about their traditional lives. Ferry service from Manon-uta Wharf on west Upolu - 20 minutes trip - ST$20 is charged for the boat per crossing regardless number of travellers.
