Namua Island is an uninhabited island free from electricity, lights and noise, just 10 minutes boat ride from the east coast of Upolu.
Namua Island offers an excellent swimming beach, ideal for snorkelling and sea kayaking amongst turtles. You can walk around the island (1 hour) or follow the forested bush trails to the scenic lookouts. Our traditional open sided fales are all beach front with great views looking back to the main land. Bathrooms (one for the boys and one for the girls) are semi-enclosed and offer cold water showers with separate toilet.
Meals are served in our open plan restaurant and feature fish, meat, local vegetables and fruits.
This is a very special place away from crowds - a place for total relaxation.

Getting There:
As most flights arrive in the early hours of the morning, the easiest way to get to Namua Island is to spend your first night in Apia. Catch the Airport Shuttle Bus into Apia Town for ST$15 per person (meets all international arrivals - 40-minutes in mini coach - driver will drop you at requested hotel). Once in Apia, the best way to get to Namua is to take the Green Turtle Tour which stops at the Namua ferry terminal every day and will call for the ferry to come and pick you up (ferry transfers are free of charge). Green Turtle are based in Apia and depart each day at 8am from the Travellers' Lounge, or organise for them to pick you up from your hotel. Simply purchase your travel pass which enables you to hop-on and hop-off the bus as many times as you like during your stay and take a scenic and educational tour en-route.
A taxi direct to Namua ferry terminal from the International Airport will cost about ST$150 (takes 2 hours) and from Apia Town about ST$100. Once at the Namua Ferry terminal, find the red flag and wave it in the air until you see the boat coming!
It is possible to get to Namua Wharf by public bus. Unfortunately frequencies are limited to just one or two a day and there is no set timetable. Catching a local bus is a fun experience, but perhaps one best left when you don't have your luggage with you - seats are cramped and buses often full!
